Samson - The Silent Titan Empty Samson - The Silent Titan

Post by Mr. Z Mon Aug 12, 2019 1:30 pm

World of Origin:   Earth - Traveller's Path (Destiny franchise)

    Name:  Samson

    Age:  36 (appearance)  Centuries (Actual)

    Gender:  Male

    Species:   Human Guardian, Titan Class

Appearance:   Already standing over 6 and a half feet tall, his initial appearance gives off a sense of intimidation to those who are not his allies.  This is further cemented as he is almost always seen wearing a full accompany of armor that he has specifically chosen to maximize his melee-based attacks.  His armor ensemble includes the 'An Insurmountable Skullfort' Helmet, a 'Crest of Alpha Lupi' Chest Piece, 'Synthoceps' Gauntlets and 'Dunemarchers' Leg Armor.  A distinct piece of flair for him is his 'Be Thy Champion' mark, which hangs from his waist.  All pieces of his armor, save for his mark, are given earthy tones of green and brown.

When he does remove his helmet, you find a head and face that seems a fair bit softer than the armor he wears:  His hair is dark brown, somewhat bushy and unkempt; his eyes are a deep dark green, and he sports over a chisled chin an equally dark-tinted goatee, save for the lower left and right corners which are turning grey.

Likewise, his ghost Plinkett holds a unique 'Knight's Peace' shell that share the same earthy motif as Samson's armor.

Personality:   Samson tends to be rather quiet, very unoffensive, often staying back to listen upon others while among strangers and speaking formally when he does need to talk.  As he becomes more accustomed to people, he allows himself to open up, becoming more informal.  He respects individuals in authority, especially those who have proven themselves in the field of battle, though he finds those who joke about the seriousness of a situation to be irritating to him.  While in battle, he prefers to keep a substantial distance from his foes so as to be certain he has the best view of the battlefield.

A lot of Plinkett's personality mirrors that of Samson.  He often stays out of sight in conflict, preferring to be more analytical and making use of tactics.  Among other Guardians or similar defenders of the Light, he is very vocal and social, and get along very well with those who provide support to such people.  The only real issue is that Plinkett has a habit of blurting out aspects of Samson's personality and history that aren't really necessary or paint Samson in a way that seems less than ideal.

Powers:   Like other Guardians, Samson is capable of wielding the Light in a way as to augment his physical capabilities.  With his preference towards the sub-set of Arc, he is able to charge up his fists with electrical energy, throw light grenades that stun enemies upon exploding, and in times of extreme duress generate massive electrical shockwaves as he unleashes his Fists of Havoc.

Plinkett, meanwhile, has a unique power that extends only to Samson:  If Samson were to die, Plinkett would be able to resurrect him, so long as an influx of darkness doesn't override Plinkett's access to the Light.

Abilities:   Along with his offensive abilities due to his use of the Light, Samson has access to a few other skills with his link to the Light.  He is able to gereate a rather large wall of light to act as a shield and able to traverse though the air, using the Light's power to double-jump and fine-tune his jumps with a short term hovering ability.  Likewise, Plinkett is very skilled at gaining access to very advanced pieces to technology, and is able to perform in-depth scans of objects that might be of note to him.

Weapons:   Samson makes of three key weapons in his arsenal:  His primary weapon, a compound bow named 'No Turning Back' which fires explosive-tipped arrows; A Solar Light-empowered energy weapon in the shape of a revolver known as the 'Sunshot' which fires explosive shots that can set enemies ablaze; And a heavy-duty dual-handed sword that is powered by Void Light with the name of 'Crown-Splitter'

Equipment:   Unlike other Guardians, who are only capable of wielding a single piece of exotic armor at any time, Samson is able to clothe himself in exotic armor for all for sections of his person:  His helmet, given the name of 'An Insurmountable Skullfort'; His chest plate being called the 'Crest of Alpha Lupi'; A pair of Gauntlets with the name of 'Synthoceps'; and a full set of leg armor identified as 'Dunemarchers'

    Awareness:   No

History:   No one knows exactly who Samson was originally, save that he had existed most likely during the later centuries of human-dominated colonization of the solar system, which came to be known as the Golden Age.  It can be also be easily surmised that he was one of the countless victims of the Darkness' arrival in the solar system, leading up to the Collapse and the subsequent 4 centuries that came to be known as the Dark Age.  As such, any information as to who he was, or what he was like, is lost forever to the ages.

In the aftermath of the Red Legion invasion and the defeat of Dominus Ghaul, Samson's body was finally resurrected by a Ghost by the name of Plinkett.  Awoken to a new age, unknowing of who he is, he is brought to the Last Safe City on Earth.  There, he is told of what has transpired, and is summarily given the title of Guardian and all that entails with such a title: to act as a shield in defense of humanity; a sword against those who threaten humankind, and a duty to serve as a beacon of the Traveler's will.

After some time to adjust, Samson often found himself working in the European Dead Zone, often keeping track of a race of insect-like humanoids known as the Fallen.  During such a recon mission, he found that the Fallen were gathering large fragments of the Traveler, an act orchestrated by an unknown person wearing a black cloak.  Investigating, he eventually encounters the cloaked figure. Fighting off the Fallen, Samson eventually faced off against the cloaked figure, who all but claimed to be an agent of the Darkness. The battle was brief, but with the aid of creatures unknown to him, Samson was killed by this cloaked figure.

Resurrecting due in part to Plinkett and the arrival of his partners of his fireteam, Samson and his fellow Guardians reported his findings to their superior, with a specific request by him to follow up on the cloaked figure.  However, such a request was denied, feeling that it too great a risk to follow up with such few Guardians available.  While he vocally accepted this result, he knew he could not let it be.  As such, after leaving the Last City, he made his choice to follow after the figure.  It wouldn't be easy, but with Plinkett being able to do at least a precursory scan on the figure, he could follow a trail as to where he has been...

Hobbies:  Quiet Contemplation, birdwatching, tuning his equipment
